BiographyBorn in the province of Quebec, Canada, and having spent more than seventeen years in the United States, Celine J. Dallaire’s rich heritage, allows her to enrich her artwork emerging that patrimony. While she draws the primary resources of her subject matters from current issues, she integrates the intersections of controversy and aesthetic celebration. Also, as a multidisciplinary artist, her abstract artworks become an unusual vision for the viewer to discover. Being a graduate of the North Iowa Area Community College in 1991 (AA), she received the Chocolate Kiss Award (best role model student) and the ‘Marian Edna Effing Scholarship’ from the Savannah College of Art and Design where she graduated with honor and obtained her BFA in 1994. She was awarded the ‘Outstanding Achievements in Fiber’. In 1996 she also received her Art Teacher Certification from the Georgia Southern University. She spent two more years in Georgia, teaching in a middle school before moving back to Canada. In 2000, she founded the "Académie des Arts Celine J. Dallaire", a private art school specializing in the traditional techniques of painting and drawing located in Rouyn-Noranda. As director, she has presented over twenty art exhibitions representing her student’s artwork. She is the Vice-President of the Printmaking Studio Atelier Mille Feuilles in Rouyn-Noranda and also a member of the Southern Graphic Council International (SCGI).
